We came into town to go to the Shiner Bach factory, and I had the need for fried chicken.The people who work here are amazing. So nice and helpful. A big part of the community. You can see it by the way they treat each customer.I ordered the fried chicken with fries, and my spouse got the gizzard with mac and cheese. The gizzard and mac and cheese were fantastic. The chicken was juicy and fried to perfection. For me, it did have a weird taste at the end. I'm not sure what it was, just something I wasn't a fan of.I would come back just for the entertainment of the employees. I would also like to try the burger.

Small counter service restaurant serving fried chicken, fish, and burgers. The chicken is excellent a crispy exterior and moist flavorful meat. The burgers looked really good, one in particular caught my eye had house made pimento cheese. The guy behind the counter gave me a sample of the cheese, I will order that burger next time we get down there. Excellent iced tea options. Regular and sweet but also had blueberry, watermelon, peach, and many other options. I chose the watermelon and wasn't disappointed. Great looking pies and brownies to as well.

Was in town on business and stopped in for lunch. Was very surprised. I was able to get in and out during lunch service. Don’t be afraid of the line it moves fast and well worth the wait. Had an AMAZING experience. The lady at the counter Jamie was very helpful when I asked questions. She made suggestions, and I went with ALL of them. Thank God I did. The salad bar was fresh and crisp. The fried chicken sandwich was fabulous. Tender and juicy, oh and the bun soft and warm. I am a cold slaw chaser and try new ones whenever possible. The chicken fried steak sandwich was to die for. When in Shiner, you must stop by.

Wonderful fried steak and dewberry pie! I ate here with my husband and kids. We all left happy and the kids got desserts. They have a little bit of everything even blue bell ice cream! In regards to another review mentioning the wait time, we waited less than 10 minutes for our food but we also were aware of there only being 3 employees. They also were making it fresh. With employee shortages and costs these days, I don’t expect an instant meal; and if it is instant, it probably will not be fresh. Our food was fresh and good!

This is a special & local favorite of good home cooking and your favorite comfort foods. It’s been years since I have been here. There is so much variety from salad bar to fried chicken, fried catfish to hamburgers, ice cream, cheesecake, giant home made cookies, pies, cakes & the favorite poppy seed kolaches. Just drop in. You will be happy you did.
